If you’re travelling on the train with a physical or visual impairment, Italo is here to help. You’ll find a special wheelchair-accessible area, assistance on board and at the station, and special toilet facilities. Italo makes every effort to ensure that your next holiday is a relaxing and pleasant one!
TRAVELLING WITH A WHEELCHAIR
If you need extra help or services while you travel, Italo is here for you. Italo guarantees free transport for people with disabilities or reduced mobility, in compliance with EC Regulation no. 1371/2007.
Going on holiday? Italo trains are wheelchair friendly! You’ll find two seats for passengers travelling with wheelchairs in carriage 8 (the Smart section), located near wheelchair-accessible toilets. Hungry on board? Head to the snack area in carriage 7 for easy-to-reach vending machines.
TRAVELLING WITH A VISUAL IMPAIRMENT
Italo trains have products and services on board for those who are blind or visually impaired. All toilets contain Braille or sound services for easy access -- simply press the sound switch on the outside of the toilet to see if it is occupied or not. Once inside, instructions are available in Braille.
Seat numbers are also indicated in Braille and can be found on aisle seats.
Guide dogs for visually-impaired or blind passengers can travel for free on Italo without any weight or size restrictions.
